Have you thought about a destination wedding, or elopement, on the beautiful Prince Edward Island of Canada? If so, check out this intimate wedding at The Carriage House in PEI. The venue sits arched on top of the hill overlooking the Southwest River in New London.

What’s not to love. You will love this venue if your style includes having your ceremony outdoors with a dramatic backdrop. Or check out their barn style indoors, perfect for a night filled with dancing and laughter.

What’s even better is that you have the option to stay right on the property in their guest house. Far different from the typical hotel stay, this guest house feels as though you are in your own personal getaway!

The Ceremony

Doug and Shelly claimed this wonderful location as the site of their intimate wedding. The ceremony took place in the middle of fall, as the leaves changed around the island.

Doug and Shelly, local to the island, knew this island was the perfect place for their wedding.

WEDDING LOCATION: THE CARRIAGE HOUSE NEW LONDON, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND

The outdoor ceremony took place in the back of the venue, perched on top of the hill overlooking the water. With a backdrop, and a warm fall breeze, this ceremony was one for the books. Although, the best part was the romantic walk around the field as they exchanged their vows.

As Doug and Shelly enjoyed some alone time, all of the guests enjoyed the nice weather at the barn side cocktail hour. However, as the sun began to set, Doug and Shelly welcomed their friends and family into the reception.

At last, Doug and Shelly meandered around to all their friends and family as they made their way to their seats. Finally, dinner was served.

As everyone enjoyed the food, friend’s and family took turns telling their favorite memories in front of the crowd. From laughter, to the heartfelt words, and everything in between. Not a single memory from the time the two had been together was left out.

Unfortunately, the spike of Covid caused restrictions to tighten on the island, thus the guests had to wear masks throughout their time inside. But Doug and Shelly were beyond happy to finally get their dream wedding!
